Thou Shalt Clean

I decided to go and try the homemade hair gel recipe, and while I was waiting for it to cool and set, I spent a little time browsing through the Idea Queen's blog again. This time finding Lara's Thou Shalt Clean blog. Another fantastic resource! As a mom of young children, and having a home-based business...I definitely need to maximize all of my time. I am definitely organizationally challenged :( Instead of procrastinating because I can't do it all perfect right NOW, I just need to spend a few (18) minutes doing SOMETHING instead of nothing! I am going to add this one to my blogroll? too (hope I'm using that right...ugh). Maybe, if I can figure out the RSS feed thing, I will subscribe so I can have her latest updates all of the time. She even posts REAL pictures of her home and office! WOW! Looks like the office of someone who is NOT born organized, but know how to get there!

Thanks Lara, I can't wait to start making a difference!

P.S....for those of you that actually understand blogrolls and rss, if you have some simple instructions...I'd love to hear it!

Idea Queen Tips Blog

Wow! This blog is awesome! The Idea Queen is full of money-saving tips, tricks, recipes and fun! I spent quite a bit of time just browsing through all of the wonderful ideas she has. I found a great recipe for homemade hair gel...yep..that's right...homemade hair gel. I can't wait to try it, I even have all of the ingredients in my cupboard! She has recipes for homemade bubble bath, school lunch recipes (to help minimize the boring same-ol', same-ol', and a healthy alternative to overprocessed lunch-in-a-packages), inexpensive Christmas crafts, chore lists, projects with magnets, and much, much more. I just can't believe all of the information and great ideas she has! I know I will be stopping by frequently! If I could figure out how to work my blog properly, I would add her to my favorites, or blogroll....hmmm...I feel an upcoming project! LOL
Since Halloween is getting near, I thought I'd also share some of the pages the Idea Queen has for yummy treats, spongebob costumes, and pumpkin carving patterns. Be sure to check them out!
Thank you Idea Queen for your awesome ideas, and resources!

Sending money online and via your cellphone

I was introduced to a great new service today. It's called Obopay. You can send money via your cell phone to anyone else with a cell phone. It has hardly any fees, especially compared to PayPal. They also have an optional prepaid mastercard to go with it. You get $10 just for signing up, and $5 for each referral you send. Sounds pretty good to me :)

A favorite recipe~ Cream Tuna on Toast ~ Quick and easy

One of my favorite standbys is Creamed Tuna on Toast. It's quick easy, and paired with a veggie, pretty nutritious.
I've never really had a 'recipe' for it, I just kindof mixed things together. Tonight, I found a recipe online and found it was not what we are used to, so I thought I'd post my own.
First, though, I must say....cream of celery soup does not belong in Creamed Tuna on Toast!!! YUK! It may be easy, but YUK!
I am often surprised at what people come up with to use condensed soups for...cream of chicken, cream of mushroom, cream of cheddar, and cream of celery soups can be found as a base to a lot of recipes. I've heard of people making mac & cheese from cream of cheddar soup poured over noodles. This is just unbelievable to me. It doesn't even sound good! Now, maybe it is...but I'm not sure I'll ever try it. lol
So...on to my 'recipe'

First, a white sauce
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk

Salt & Pepper to taste
bread for toast

Melt the butter over med-low heat until melted, being careful not to heat too high and burn it. Add the flour and stir until it starts 'sizzling'. Add milk while whisking.

Heat over medium heat until the sauce bubbles. Add 1 can of tuna, salt and pepper, to taste.

You can double, triple, quadruple this recipe all your heart desires. If you would like to save on milk, you can do 3 parts milk to 1 part water (with the recipe above, that would be 1 1/2 c. milk and 1/2 c. water) but I would not try half water and half milk. It's just too watery and bland.

Toast bread and pour about 1/3 c. of the creamed tuna on each piece of bread. I personally like to butter my bread first, and my hubby likes cheese on his.

Enjoy!
